TV Week In Review: 2007, Week 1
In these days of PVRs and DVD box-sets it’s difficult to know whether the shows one person watches are the same as the shows other folk are viewing. For example, I’m still catching up on the last few installments of The State Within, which are about a month old and I even have a whole bunch of Firefly left to enjoy on DVD that I’ve been meaning to watch for the best part of two years. And as we move towards a world of on-demand TV it’s only going to get more difficult but that’s a problem for another time. Anyway, this “Diary Of An Addict” page (link permanently on the Sidebar) is an attempt to record all the programmes that I have been watching and “TV Week In Review” is an attempt to pick the best show broadcast in the week. So, this was the week that was. Welcome returns for ER and Waking The Dead, a not so welcome return for Celebrity Big Brother, the end of the first season of Torchwood and a brand new “Hello” to Ugly Betty and the Sarah Jane Adventures. However, the show of the week is undoubtedly the final installment of Green Wing. Here’s the list, but what did I miss….?
- Sun 7th Jan: FA Cup Live, Cardiff vs Spurs, SkySports1; ER “Bloodline” (7/10) start of series 13; Waking The Dead “Wren Boys: Part 1? (8/10) start of series 6.
- Sat 6th Jan: Final Score FA Cup 3rd Round Saturday; Ugly Betty ep 1 (not a bad start, 7/10); Green Wing the final ep (9/10)
- Fri 5th Jan: Commander In Chief “Wind Beneath My Wing” (5.5/10); The State Within ep 4 (still catching up!)
- Thu 4th Jan: Deal or No Deal “Ł750 won”; Celeb BB (somebody stop me); Commander In Chief “No Nukes Is Good Nukes” (7/10)
- Wed 3rd Jan: Friends “The One With The East German Laundry Detergent” (9/10); Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe “Review of The Year 2006?; Celebrity Big Brother The Launch Show.
- Tue 2nd Jan: Sarah Jane Adventures “Invasion Of The Bane” (6/10); Torchwood De-Classified eps 12 & 13; Cricket Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, 1st Session (wish I hadn’t bothered
) - Mon 1st Jan: Torchwood “Captain Jack Harkness” (8/10) and “End Of Days” (8/10)
