In the two months of 2007 I have been making efforts to keep on top of this little ‘ole website and I thought it might be worthwhile to partake of a quick spot of naval gazing by looking back at the New Year’s Resolutions that I made and see what progress is being made.

  1. First up was better quality of writing. Here, I have not been as successful as hoped because I have been remiss on

TV Week In Review: 2007, Week 1

In these days of PVRs and DVD box-sets its difficult to know whether the shows one person watches are the same as the shows other folk are viewing. For example, Im still catching up on the last few installments of The State Within, which are about a month old and I even have a whole bunch of Firefly left to enjoy on DVD that Ive been meaning to watch for the best part of two years. Apologies for the interruption in service.

Following its brief hiatus over the holidays, normal televisual commentary will be re-commencing very soon on The Idiot’s Lantern. Thank you for your patience.

What’s on?

Well not much. It’s been a very quiet week in the viewing stakes, I’ve even been reduced to watching the backlog of House’s off the Sky+ planner (there is 70% free at the moment, which is some kind of record for for our system: we haven’t upgraded to the 160Gb system as I’m holding out for the HD system). The ITV 50th birthday celebrations continue apace with Ant or Dec fronting some gameshow marathon, and a walk of fame thing that I studiously avoided. The lacklustre football season has started with chants of “boring! boring!” no longer being limited to the Arsenal… it’s the 4-5-1 apparently. When, oh when, will Battlestar Gallactica come back on SkyOne?
