Life on Mars l

Ashes to Ashes?

Here we are again, another week of viewing draws to a close and there were loads of goodies on offer. The highlight of them all must have been the conclusion to Life on Mars that I wrote about earlier in the week. As a previous winner of the prestigious Show-Of-The-Week award, it is, of course, exempt from winning again but I am sorely tempted to re-write the rules to allow LoM an unprecidented second win. Elsewhere we saw the return of Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield in a (more…)

Apprentice b

I know she’s not in the new series, but she was genius in the Comic Relief special

April is upon us, Spring has sprung and the weather looks distinctly better outside.  Somehow this has led to a certain lack on television watching lately.  The Other Viewer and I are currently being mocked by our Sky+ Planner which has five episodes of Desperate Housewives and four of Battlestar Galactica on the first page.  We will get around to them soon and an appropriate monster sized catch up post soon.  A week’s vacation this week might be just what the Doctor ordered.  In (more…)

I Really Liked This Screencap (… just thought I’d share that!)

I caught up with the latest two episodes of Battlestar Galactica last night, well, the latest two shown in the UK (with appropriate apologies to the dishless masses) and it was a surprisingly mixed bag on offer.  We began with “Unfinished Business” that was an episode based around a boxing tournament on the Galactica that included Lost-style flashbacks to a time on New Caprica before the Cylons found the colony.  However, boxing doesn’t really do it for me and I found the (more…)

Holding Out For a Hero

A trip to the cinema (”Hot Fuzz”) for the first time in about the space of a year for the Other Viewer and I this week, along with sitting down to watch a sci-fi movie classic (”Fifth Element) made me once again consider expanding the remit of Fazzinchi.co.uk to include an occasional series of reviews of non-TV related entertainment such as movies, books, and very occasional theatre trips.  Still debating the concept at the moment though.  Back on the box, it was another entertaining (more…)

President Roslin Faces Up To The Challenges

Now that the crew of Galactica are leading the fleet back on their quest for Earth, the series seems to be settling into something of a routine.  There have been three episodes shown on SkyOne since the last report from Fazzinchi Towers and they’ve all been pretty great.  In “Torn”, we see former rivals Tigh and Starbuck continue their bitter backlash against anyone in their vague vicinity, which finally leads to a confrontation with Adama who gives each of the pair an ultimatum (more…)

Collaboration Is Bad

They’re all back on Galactica with the remnants of the fleet in tow, fleeing the cylons and struggling to survive. So, have the producers reset the clock on Battlestar Galactica? Far from it. The backlash from the occupation of New Caprica has begun in the episode “Collaborators”, during which President Tom Zareck appointed a vigilante group known as The Circle to act as judge, jury and executioner of the humans who had worked with the Cylons during the months on the planet.
