Back in the Fold

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

After a short break for the summer, I am returning to the blogging world.  With a bit of luck there’ll be some decent programmes on TV worth writing about. There’ll be a DVD review of Dexter series one, and TV reviews of House of Saddam and the start of Spooks: Code 9 to come.  For now though, there are only two things on telly, the Olympics and Big Brother.  I’ll leave the Olympic coverage until after the medals have been counted (more…)

Day Fifty-Four

Blog Life is so much easier when you’re not trying to take screencaps with your cameraphone to upload on Flickr so that you can include pretty images in your posts.  Back when I decided to write about Journey’s End au naturelle, as it were, I promised I would go back and add in the pictures later. However, the experience has left me liberated.  Blogs afterall, are about words not pictures, so I have decided that here at Fazzinchi Towers we’re (more…)

BB9 a

The Likable Luke in the new Diary Room

So here we go again.  I never bothered with BB8 after the launch show, so tuning in to BB9 was basically going to be a one night event for me and The Other Viewer.  However, they hooked us in with secret mission and a quirky gang of 16 housemates… only a few of which I’d have to stop myself from slapping upon first meeting.  So, I’m sticking with it… for now.  I know, I shouldn’t and may be, the novelty will wear off soon. Radio Times

Highlighter Pen at The Ready

It continues to amuse me that the greatest weekly magazine that the UK produces continues to be called the Radio Times despite the fact that almost nobody uses it for looking forward to radio listings but instead plan their TV viewing for the forthcoming week. And, of the 51 issues that get released every year, it is the “legendary” (their own word) double-sized Christmas issue that makes for the greatest read. So, for this post, with the trusty tome by my side, I will provide my own (more…)

Brothers b

Show Me The Money

The Other Viewer and I have about 4 episodes to catch up on this one so excuse me if I’m a little behind the times in my analysis but, over on C4/E4, the much-hyped, Brothers and Sisters provides a glossy, American drama/comedy tale (are we allowed to use the term “dramedy”?) of a rather large LA family. The cast is pretty enormous and one of the big challenges proves to be trying to remember all of the character’s names but despite this, or may be thanks to (more…)

Someone To Watch Over Me

BB8 b (2)

Seven Days and Seven Nights

So, here we are a week into the show and I have already watched far more Big Brother than I vowed I would. The story (for want of a better word) so far is that what started out as an all-girl cast about whom my first impressions remain fairly unchanged, soon became not quite so “all-girl” as they were joined by sacrificial lamb/ stud/ lone voice of reason (delete as applicable) who has been thrust into the testosterone-free environs of the house to “mix it up” as I’m sure one of the (more…)
