4×10: “Midnight”

Ladies and gentlemen and variations thereupon, that was a bit good wasn’t it?  Just at the time when the soon to be gone Russell T Davies gets an OBE for his efforts and the vocal minority are bemoaning the fact that their anti-hero is penning all four of the remaining episodes in Series 4, the great man serves up a real treat with Midnight, a claustrophobic slice of hardcore sci-fi that, even the folk who love him didn’t think

4x05 Unified

The Poison Sky was the conclusion to last week’s cliffhanger although we then got another surprise one tagged on the end of the episode, which was only slightly spoiled by the BBC’s “One to Watch” trailer earlier in the day, more on that later though.  It hardly took a great mind to work out the best way to rescue poor Wilf from the car, in fact while the “great mind” was tinkering about under the car with his suddenly impotent

Christmas Review #12 of 12

Who’d have guessed that my 12th and final Christmas review would have been the Doctor Who, Christmas day extravaganza, “The Runaway Bride“? And it’s the twelfth day after Christmas too, genius eh?! After just two installments of a Christmas Day DW special and following the success of “The Christmas Invasion” in 2005, it would now seem that the good Doctor is becoming a fixture in the BBC1 schedules. It comes with plenty of extras too: last year we were treated to an
