Christmas Ain’t Coming Any More

You really don’t need me to tell you what to be watching on Christmas Day, do you? Doctor Who, Gavin and Stacey and find yourself a good DVD or two. Job done.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, I’d just like to take the opportunity to wish each and every one of you, all the very best for the season. Your support is much appreciated.

Looking Up

Not sure if you’ve caught this fairly quietly introduced sitcom on BBC2 yet but, if not, I would strongly recommend heading over to the iPlayer to find Home Time. I would imagine that this kind of comedy is not everyone’s cup of tea but there is a growing tradition in the more successful recent of the genre of slow starts building up cult following. The Office and Gavin and Stacey being the examples that everyone is probably trying to emulate. Indeed, the director and producer

Blackadder Rides Again a

Christmas 2008 has been consigned to the history books and with it the festive fortnight of strange and delightful television schedules have concluded. Smithster and Gavster

Week 20, and I must confess that it is proving quite a challenge to keep my viewing diary up-to-date. You may have noticed, faithful reader, that I am not here every day to update the lists of the shows that I’ve been watching. It is a fact that I shall attempt to rectify since it’s not like I’m ever away from a computer but it’s a fact nonetheless. So, when it comes to trying to recall the programmes that I have been watching over the last four or five days I find myself

The Start of A Beautiful Relationship

There will be, in fact there already is, such controversy about the digital switch-over and the switching off of terrestrial TV signals and quite rightly there needs to be a substantial amount of work put in to enable this to be a success, it is fraught with logistical and social difficulties and I do not envy those who have been put in charge one little bit. Throughout this work over the coming years, I hope that the powers-that-be remain clear on their vision for the promised-land ahead. A
