Anyone for a Catfight?

So, what is that intangible “something” about Primeval that leads me to both love it and hate it at the same time? Series Two came to an end at the weekend with the 13th installment of dino-fun and I have to acknowledge that the second set of seven episodes were a distinct step up from the first six. For every positive that I find there is a niggly little piece of the puzzle that doesn’t quite fit….

• Does Primeval have a future?  Well, yes clearly it does as the widely reported renewal for a third series shows but is it a future with me watching it?  It’s kind of fun, looks quite good and Paul Cornell’s episode on Saturday showed that it’s capable of good things but there’s something in there that bugs me.  Interesting that there is a viewer’s competition to design a monster for next series… will they get another Absorbaloff?

Leaving Ladies

Primeval drew to an end a few weeks ago and it took the Other Viewer and I a while to get around to watching it. I’m Not In The Mood For Dancing

Week 12, where does the time go? We’re almost a quarter of the way through the year and I’ve managed to maintain this diary all the while. Comic Relief

Primeval is continuing apace on Saturday nights and it continues to be a bit of a mixed bag.� I’ve just watched last night’s “Episode 3″ (Oddly, they don’t seem to do episode titles, although a Friends-like approach of “The One With The Mososaur” might suffice).�� Following the hocum of “The One With The Giant Creepy-Crawlys” last week, I was quite enthused by the underwater antics this time out and the Walking With Dinosaurs special effects continue to be a very high standard.

Coelurosauravus… “Rex” To His Friends�

If Primeval is the answer, it must have been a very peculiar question. ITV launched its “Doctor Who-beater” last night and reviews have been mixed, from the not so bad to the not so good.
