Continuing the hugely welcome trend for UK broadcasters to show US-imports very soon after their Stateside debuts, Fringe, while not exactly creating a storm of excitement has delivered some enjoyable, watchable sci-fi drama.  Being spoiler-free on these shows is a genuine pleasure and one which will be sorely missed if the January re-starts for Lost, Battlestar and 24 don’t follow suit. However, Fringe is a tough show to review

Mr Moriarty, I Presume

Lost returned for UK viewers last Sunday (to Sky One and HD) for the slightly delayed, post-Writer’s Strike second half of season four.  Life for Lost fans had certainly picked up after the much improved fourth series had began with a series of great episodes that were up with the best that the show had produced and that, in a very real sense, contained honest to goodness answers to some of those infamous and infuriating

4×01/2: He That Believeth In Me and Six of One

I have been tending to focus on things Who-related of late (although I never mentioned Torchwood during its recently concluded second series at all) but the remit of this blog is pretty much anything I see on telly and one import that is just as much a fixture of my weekly viewing is Battlestar Galactica. Lost Returns… and so do I

Well, it’s a been a while since I’ve been here blogging and I lay the blame solely at the door of my employer: extra hours and a stressfull project are not conducive to my leisurely tapping away at a keyboard of a evening.  Also, the thought of having a job that involves tapping away at a keyboard (albeit in an un-leisurely manner) all day, only to come home and spend my “free” time doing exactly the same thing would seem a little masochistic.  However, the intervening period since the last post has seen a dramatic

Hogfather1

Christmas Review #2 of 12

To the best of my knowledge, this was the first time that any of Terry Pratchett’s work has been turned into a visual medium. I’ve always thought that the Discworld books were perfect fodder for an animated series of some description but anyone who has been within the vague vicinity of a Sky TV channel over the festive period cannot have failed to have noticed that Sky TV (not exactly renowned for making original dramas) have produced a real life version of The Hogfather.

Oh My God, They Killed Eko!

Another week, another bombshell. Episode 5 of season 3 of Lost was shown here in the UK on SkyOne on Sunday night and “The Cost Of Living” provided more intrigue from the island. With Jack, Sawyer and Kate incarcerated on the other island (?) the dynamic back at base camp had changed dramatically with Locke taking a lead role and being much more inclusive when it comes to involving everyone, so much so that two additional survivors have been given speaking roles
