On The Sofa, Not Behind It

20th July 2009 is a day to remember! Is it because it is the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings? Not exactly, no. Is it, perhaps, because Freddie Flintoff has become some kind of cricketing deity by taking five wickets during England’s  historic victory over the old enemy at Lords? No. (Well, may be a little bit). Or is it because filming is now underway on the newest incarnation of the adventures of our favourite Time Lord? Could be.

Who’s That Girl?

I love a good Doctor Who announcement. Back in the “Old Days” I have a vague recollection of the time when it was mentioned on the news that Tom Baker was to be replaced by one of those vets from All Creatures. I was appalled: it was an  outrage… “He’s too young”, “too pretty”, “not alien enough”. Other than an odd realisation that information about my favourite programme was being reported on the evening news, these thoughts were merely fleeting for my ten year old brain and I probably soon went back to whatever else I was doing.
